Cecilia Hering - Artistic Director
Teaches: Pre-Professional Program, Advanced technique and Pointe.
Ms. Hering is the Artistic director of Redlands Festival Ballet and the School Of International Ballet. Began training in Los Angeles and toured with the Ouhtomsky Ballet Classique and has performed with San Francisco and Opera Ballet. Her international career includes soloist and principal roles with Les Grandes Ballet Canadiens, States Ballet of Munich, Gelsenkirchen, Muenster of West Germany, and Ballet of Saint Gallen in Switzerland where she was ballet mistress and choreographer.
Ms. Hering founded Redlands Festival Ballet in 1982 and has received high acclaim for her choreography in the extensive repertoire of the company. She continues her dedication to the preservation and presentation of classical dance in the Inland Empire.

Barbara Crafts
Teaches: Ballet, Pointe
Ms. Barbara Crafts began dancing in Melbourne, Australia just as she turned nine years old. Her teachers were from ballet Rambart which we know as Royal Ballet. She returned to the USA and returned to classes at 13 with dancers from Ballet Russe De Monte Carlo. As a teen, she spent a summer in NYC dancing with ballet repertoire. Her teachers were Talia Mara, Arthur Mahoney, Boris Romanoff, and Hilda Butsova. Mr. Romanoff and Ms. Bustsova had danced for years with ballet Russe with Anna Pavlova. Ms. Barbara went to the University of Utah and continued dancing under William Christiansen. She became a founding member of Ballet West dancing in the 4th full-length Nutcracker in the United States and the first full-length Coppelia in the country. She retired early due to illness, married, and relocated to California where she raised a family of 3 children. She returned to ballet in 2001 as an elder student, then began teaching she joined the staff at the School Of International ballet in 2016.

Leigh McFadden
Costume Designer
Leigh McFadden is a Southern California based designer with over 20 years of experience creating custom works of art for ballet, theater, formal events, and everything in between.
Her creations use only the finest fabrics, trims, Austrian crystals, pearls, semi-precious stones, and couture techniques. Her talents also include re-imagining and refurbishing existing pieces into new creations.
You can see her work in many area ballet productions as well as in design shows, music videos, and magazine shoots.

Jennifer Schmidt
Teaches: Adult/Teen Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Yoga/Pilates
Ms. Schmidt has choreographed pieces for various dancers and events in the Inland Empire. Ms. Schmidt has a BFA in Dance and studied and performed in NYC for 8 years.

Samantha Zane
Guest Teacher - Ballet & Contemporary
Samantha is from Southern California and grew up in Loma Linda. She attended Loma Linda Academy from K-12, graduating in 2022. She started dancing at age four with The School of International Ballet in Redlands, studying under Cecilia Herring, Jennifer Schmidt, and Barbara Crafts. She’s had two alums as her teachers when she was younger Jenny Lynch and Channel Tekin. She received additional training through intensive programs with Boston Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, Ellison, and Ballet RI. After graduating high school and dancing with SIB for over 15 years, she decided to continue to study dance in college. She completed her first year at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. However, after suffering a foot fracture in February 2023, she now taking a gap year to recover, strengthen and retrain. Samantha’s previous experience includes many years dancing in the Nutcracker with Inland Dance Theater, as well as performances of The Match Girl, Don Quixote, and Cinderella. She has danced in multiple roles including Clara, Mirlitons, Spanish Soloist, Mechanical Doll, Snow & Waltz Corp, Owl, Village Girl, and a Puppet. Just recently she performed as a Snowflake, Lead Mirliton, and Spanish Corp in Westside’s 50th Anniversary of Nutcracker and also a Page in the Los Angeles Ballet production of The Nutcracker. When Ms. Zane is not dancing, she loves crafting, playing with her dogs, and going to Disneyland and Broadway Shows. If you would like to learn more click here
